Sangola (Sangole) is a town with a municipal council in Solapur District in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is situated near the borders of Satara District, Sangli District, and Solapur District. It is located at the intersection of state highways SH-161, SH-3, and SH-71.
Sangola is influenced by the local steppe climate. During the year there is little rainfall. This climate is considered to be BSh according to the Koppen-Geiger climate classification. The average annual temperature in Sangole is 26.3 °C. Precipitation here averages 591 mm.
Sangola was a prominent part of the Maratha dynasty under the Ingoles. It is believed that Sangola as a town was established around the 14th or 15th century by six Ingoles. Babaji Lakhmoji Ingole & his five sons (6 Ingole’s)have constructed a fort and situated town Sangole.
