Mangaon is a small town and taluka in Konkan region of Maharashtra, India. It is located in Raigad district, 92 km from Headquarter Alibag and 146 km from State Capital Mumbai towards Panjim side
Initially, there was only a Bus Stand, but recently Mangaon got it own MSRTC Bus Depot. It is located along NH-66 Panvel-Kochi Highway. Buses departing from Shrivardhan Depot and Mahad Depot exclusively halt at Mangaon.Buses from Mangaon depot depart from Goregaon or Mangaon Bus Stand itself.
Mangaon is split point for buses heading down towards Konkan from Mumbai. Buses heading Dapoli-Mandangad; Shrivardhan-Mhasala; Mahad-Poladpur-Mahabaleshwar; Khed-Chiplun-Ratnagiri/Panjim change their routes according to their respective destinations.

Mangad fort is located 15 km from the taluka market area of Nijampur and lies in the Manjarwane Panchayat area. The fort consists of only one main gate connected via chain of mountain ranges and Kumbhe waterfall in the vicinity.
The Raigad fort in Mahad taluka is 22 km from Mangaon. It is another base point to reach the fort.
