Mukhed is a city and a municipal council in Nanded district in the Indian state of Maharashtra.
The historical name of this city was ‘Mohanavati Nagar’. There is a fable about this name change. There was a strong belief among native peoples that this city was “enchanted”. Once any person visited this city, they would be enchanted, and, as result, not be able to easily leave. The name Mohanavati means bewitch. The current name of the city is Mukhed.
The climate here is tropical. In winter, there is much less rainfall in Mukhed than in summer. This climate is considered to be Aw according to the Koppen-Geiger climate classification. The average annual temperature is 27.1 °C in Mukhed. Precipitation here averages 954 mm.
Transport. Mukhed lies about 75 km from Nanded, but travel to Mukhed from Nanded takes about two hours because of poor road conditions, and there is no train service.
